So You Think You’re Funny? – Episode 5 – Paul From Cheeky Dad

This series is becoming a bit like ‘Two Broke Girls’ – where you really assumed it would have died on its arse after a couple of episodes and yet it’s still going strong!

This episode features our first dad of the series – Paul from Cheeky Dad. Paul’s blog has only been in action since the start of December, so why not pop over for a look and check out his social media links? I’m sure he’d appreciate it!

Enough preamble though – let’s get cracking with the answers! If you’re inspired and want to take part yourself just let us know via our contact page! If we get many more willing volunteers this will rapidly become the next Coronation Street – except without the ongoing abject misery of course…

1. Tell us about yourself in 20 words or less:

Typical bloke that shys away from serious conversations via a fart or a burp, childish, loving, extremely sarcastic.

2. Now do the same as if through the eyes of your worst enemy:

A jumped up, self opinionated pr**k that gets involved with other people’s business.

3. When and why did your child(ren) last make you laugh?

As you can imagine, the little man has been spoilt rotten for his first Christmas and our living room currently resembles a ‘Toys R Us’ stock room. This is fine except for the fact his favourite item and the only one he’s been interested in to date is a set of woodland friend finger puppets bought from Primark for £1. If I didn’t laugh about the amount of money we could of saved I’d be a troubled man. The little shit!

4. Do you try to be funny when you are writing? Tell us a bit about your blogging ‘process’.

I’m still very new to the blogging scene so I’m still yet to find a blogging process that works for me when it comes to new material, but I definitely try to include humour in my blog posts. I think this reflects my personality of always trying to be the class clown.

5. What do you think is the funniest thing you’ve ever written?

Jesus that’s a hard one. Can I pass?………

6. What or who do you rate as the funniest…

TV Show? – Celebrity Juice always guarantees a laugh. It appeals to my childish sense of humour. Aside from this being Welsh you have to love Gavin and Stacey. ‘Oh, What’s Occurring?’ and who can forget The Royle Family?

Comedian? – Everyone’s favourite – Peter Kay. The guy is a legend. I’m also a big Micky Flanagan fan. I’m often ‘Out, but not Out Out!’

Writer/blogger? – Dave from ‘The Dadventurer’ creates some fantastic content. His piece on the Cbeebies cast out for few drinks cracked me up. We’d all love to see Mr Tumble after a few beers. Tony from the ‘The Life of Tont’ is another blogger I’m a fan of. His twitter grumbles always raise a smile.

7. Do your friends/family find you funny in ‘real life’?

I’d like to think so. When it comes to making people laugh I can be quite stubborn. I’m more than willing to repeat a joke 10 times in order to get a reaction.

8. Go on, tell us a joke.

Why did the bald man draw rabbits on his head?

Because from a distance they looked like hares 😉

9. What’s your tipple?

Lager or fruit ciders are my usual choices, depending on the occasion. Although I was given a bottle of gin for Christmas by a client and that’s not lasted long. G&T anyone?

10. If you could only have one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would you choose?

It would have to be a Wagamama’s Yaki Soba. I’m a massive Wagamama’s fan.

11. Complete the sentence; ‘Before I had a child…’

I could pee without spectators.

12. In your opinion, what is the worst children’s TV show, and why?

I’m not a fan of anything related to Mr Tumble. Anyone who parades their spotty bag around in front of the kids needs to be locked up in my opinion

13. Please tell us about your blog and why we should visit:

I hope to use my blog as a place to document my adventures of being a dad to Little H. As I’m very new I’m hoping my blog in time will grow and become a great source of completely useless parenting information.

Paul can be found at his blog, Cheeky Dad, or on Twitter or Instagram. Why not pop across and share some love?

So that’s it for another Monday of ‘So You Think You’re Funny’. Next week we have another funny dad – Jeff from Drooling Daddy. Before then though there’s plenty more amusement to be had on the website. See you tomorrow…

We're very needy! Please share, follow or like us:
