Chalkola Chalk Pens: Review & Discount Code
Joshua loves drawing.
Generally this involves drawing on things that are not intended to be drawn upon, like walls, tables, clothes and faces – basically if he has a pen in his hand the world is his canvas. Whilst not wanting to impinge upon on his creativity and Banksy-esque tendencies, it can be a bit of a pain, and had resulted in half a bedroom wall being re-papered.
If only there were writing implements that you could use on a variety of surfaces and then just wipe off them again! As you may have guessed by the title of this post there are indeed such writing implements on the market and one such option is the awesome range of Chalkola chalk markers.
We had a play with two types of pens – the 8 pack of 15mm Jumbo Chalk Pens and the 21 pack of Chalk Pens & Metallic Colours, both of which are available through Amazon. When I say ‘we’ I do definitely mean ‘we’ as although the pens are erasable when used on non-porous surfaces they still need a good deal of supervision when used by a 2 year-old so as to ensure that carpets and the like aren’t getting a good dose of inky goodness too!
The pens are pretty easy to use, but if your little one is young like our one they will need a bit of help to get them going, as you need to press the tips against a firm surface a few times to get the ink flowing. This actually helps to prevent mess because unless you are there with your little one they shouldn’t be able to easily get them going without your help – winning!
The range of colours is great with more than enough variety in either set to keep your little ones going.
We tried them out mostly on our patio window, after doing a little test to make sure they all wiped off nice and easily with a trusty multi-purpose wet wipe! It just takes a bit of a shake and a few presses and then you’re good to go. As you can see below the colours are bright and vibrant and it works really well on windows (even if windows are incredibly hard to photograph!!).
You can also use them on chalk boards, plastics, glasses, pebbles and loads of other surfaces. You see writing on pub chalk boards all the time with these kinds of pens and they look awesome, so don’t let my lack of artistic ability put you off!
If you fancy giving them a go, you can use the following 15% Off Coupon Code on the Chalkola website or on Amazon (links are all above):
15OFFSTR
They arrive really quickly and are a pretty cool purchase either for your own little ones or as a gift. Or you could of course just buy them for your own use and don’t let the little ones get anywhere near them. After all, why should they have all the fun!?
The pens mentioned in this post were provided to me for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
