Blogger Taking Christmas Social Media Break Lasts Until Midday

A blogger who announced on all of their social media platforms that they were taking an extended social media break over Christmas to spend quality time with their family lasted until 11.54am on Christmas Day.

The blogger had made the following announcement to their army of 243 combined social media followers late on Christmas Eve:

I’ve taken a long hard look at myself and decided that I need to take a break from social media to cleanse myself and spend some quality, uninterrupted time with my family. I plan to return on 1st January. I know this will be hard to take for you all but my family need me too and this is something I just have to do. Be strong. I love you all.

The post attracted dismay among followers, with 2 liking the post on Facebook and the rest being too shocked and broken to make any form of response at all.

But heartbreak turned to relief when just before midday on Christmas Day the hiatus-taking influencer posted a photo of their turkey being stuffed on Instagram with the amusing #stuffed. Later that day a photo of a board of wanky French cheese was posted on Facebook with the caption ‘happy birthday Cheesus’ and the hiatus was official over.

The family of the influencer were unavailable for comment so we cannot judge how much the social media break meant to them.
