There was one in the bed and the Mummy said “how lovely, how lovely!”
So she rolled over and stretched herself out and drifted off to sleep
before being woken moments later by the patter of small feet.
There were two in the bed and the little one said “want cuddle, want cuddle!”
So Mummy rolled over and they cuddled up to sleep
before the thump of giant feet signalled Daddy coming to bed.
There were three in the bed and the little one said “don’t squash me, don’t squash me.”
So she rolled over and made herself some room and a rather squashed Mummy tried to get some sleep
but soon she heard the patter of another pair of feet.
There were four in the bed and the little one said “roll over, roll over.”
So they all rolled over and Mummy almost fell out and decided to go and curl up in one of the children’s beds
in the hope that she might be able to finally get some sleep.
There were three in the bed and the little one said “Where’s Mummy? Where’s Mummy?”
So she rolled over and then got up and decided to join Mummy in the little single bed
so Mummy still got the joy of feeling like a sardine in a tin.
There were two in each bed and the little ones were quite comfy, quite comfy.
So they both rolled over and stretched themselves out and
neither of the big ones got a great night’s sleep…
